Cats Who Need Housing and/or Rehoming

Leeanne Barnhart, one of JCHS' early members, died March 5, 2016. Leeanne had a big heart and rarely said "no" to helping animals in need.

She left six cats. If you know of (or are!) someone who may be able to give a cat a new home, please contact us.

Our foster homes are currently full and for now, we cannot take in more animals.

Although the fostercare-space relationship between JCHS and the Coralville Animal Clinic is over, Crystal Frank, DVM (the Clinic’s new owner) will continue offering JCHS a sizable discount on veterinary services and food for animals in our care.

Did You Know...

People often confuse us with the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center, (the city's municipal animal shelter). Although we both offer animals for adoption, and we work collaboratively, JCHS does not operate a sheltering facility.

You may qualify for spay/neuter financial assistance from us if you reside in Johnson County.
