Abby

DOB:  8/94

Female

Abby was an adult stray who was tamed and rescued by Betsy, one of our foster caregivers. She joined the household as “cat number two,” delighted to live inside and be gently bossed by Mittens the alpha cat.

When Mittens died, Abby grieved. But, after a while, this little cat’s purrsonality began to bloom, and Abby started to enjoy being the center of attention.

About a year later, Abby’s foster caregiver, Betsy, died peacefully at home after a long illness. Abby was bereft.

The change made a huge impression on her, but fortunately, Betsy had made plans with JCHS for Abby’s continued care, so Abby’s transition to her new foster home was pretty smooth.

Although she was depressed, Abby’s really quite adaptable. She’s made some new cat friends and is chatty with her current caregiver.

This cat is very easy to have around, has a history of good health, and she a good sense of humor as well. Abby doesn’t ask for much. She is strong enough to be an only cat, but she’s also skilled at fitting in. Abby would be wonderful with an older person who wants companionship.

Abby likeschattering at birds; to be ”with” rather than “on”; viewing her environment from on high; playtime; other polite cats

She dislikesisolation; rude cats

Far too many beloved companion animals become instantly homeless upon the death of their caregivers. Please take time now to discuss options with your lawyer and make provisions for your animals in your will.
