Baby's mom was a campus cat from the west side of the Iowa River. This extended
family has grown up outside near the UI College of Nursing. Baby got to be friends
with her caregiver, so she wasn't all that difficult to capture with her four
kittens, Bobbieanne, Darcy, Dylan,
and Eddie.
Baby's sister hadn't quite developed the same level of trust by the time she had her own litter of two. After moving them several times, Sister finally let the caregiver follow her to her newest nest. The caregiver was able to remove Sister's two kittens (Emily and Peggie) and add them to Baby's litter.
And then, this able caregiver noticed that another of her charges had given birth. A seventh kitten, Riki Tiki Tavi, was rescued and brought to his aunt, Baby.
Baby is a calm and generous mom to all seven. More on her and the kittens she's caring for later.
