Capone—adopted!

Photo: Capone the cat.Capone is enough of a kitten that his purrsonality, like his body, is still under construction.

Check out his already adopted siblings, McCormick, Chrysler, Rosie, and Wrigley.

Unbeknownst to anyone, his mother had found a wonderful woodpile at the back of a yard that looked like a safe place to have her five kittens. Things were fine, although the heat index hovered around 100 degrees. Then one day, when the kittens were three weeks old, she left her hideaway to find food and never returned.

The nice family who belonged to the yard heard the hungry kittens calling for their mom, and after waiting to see if she would return, brought the kittens to the Coralville Animal Clinic. The people were on their way out of town for the weekend. These bottle-fed babies got daily baths and lots of handling.

Capone has turned out to be a real sweetheart. He’s a nice balance of active kitty and active snuggler.
