Don’t let Khaki’s solemn face fool youhe’s just not a smilerbut he really is a love! Khaki had been living in the caretaker’s home at the Johnson County Fairgrounds until a terminal illness uprooted his family.

Unfortunately, Khaki’s (and his housemates’) continued care had not been addressed before his dad’s health failed and they lost their home as the household was suddenly dismantled.

This amount of change makes a huge impression on a companion animal. The triple shock of losing his caregiver, his home, and moving into a foster situation was a burden.

Khaki and his brother Mellow, and “uncle” Thomas (RIP) have made many friends in fostercare. All three were easily accepted by their new colony.

Far too many beloved companion animals become instantly homeless upon the death of their caregivers. Please take time now to discuss options with your lawyer and make provisions for your animals in your will.

Khaki likesto explore; sleeping in the sun; chatting with and head bunting his caregiver; wand toys; bird watching; other cats

He dislikesfast hands

Khaki has a cute little “wah” voice. He’s an outgoing, affectionate guy who doesn’t ask for much. Khaki likes to play soccer and hockey with found objects.

He and his brother are gentlethey were raised by senior citizens. The plan was to place Khaki and Mellow as a pair. They don't spend all that much time with one another in their foster home, but neither has ever been an only cat
