Magi

Their barn cat mother was hit by a car and killed when the kittens were about two weeks old. The litter was rescued the very next day, just as the kittens were about to become “farm pond fish food.”

Check out Magi’s siblings, Skeeter, Sammie, and Pugsley.

Round-the-clock bottle-feeding and careful handling resulted in four beautifully-socialized kitties who thrive on their interactions with humans.

Magi is a very gentle, nurturing cat. She has a fascination for the showered body and licks arms and legs until she’s satisfied they are dry. Whenever there’s an available lap, she’s in it. Magi is quite the attentive companion and enjoys her interactions.

Live, Let Live, & LearnIf you happen to find young kittens (or other baby animals) without their mom, please think things through before you act. Bottle babies have very special needs (food, temperature, excretory, etc.) and require expert care. It’s so easy to shift into “helping mode,” but momcats do this best!

Unless you are sure mom isn’t coming back, be prepared to quietly observe for awhile. Human intervention is not always what’s best for the animal! To paraphrase Antoine de Sainte-Éxupéry—You become responsible for those you rescue.
