Ripley was born to a campus cat from the west side of the Iowa River. This extended family has grown up outside near the UI College of Nursing. His mother hasn't developed the level of trust that many of the other moms have in their caregiver, so Ripley's aunt brought him to dinner and allowed the caregiver to capture him.
