Sadie

DOB:  6/01

Female

Sadie is a young, campus cat from the west side of the Iowa River. Her extended family has grown up outside near the UI College of Nursing.

When Sadie was captured in a humane trap, she was already a young adult, and it was clear that she had never been touched by a human. It was also clear that she was terrified and not looking forward to the experience.

After her initial health checkup and vet care, she went to her foster home and had to learn about stairs, cat beds, hands, and all the other things that most housecats take for granted.

Because her introduction to humans came after kittenhood, Sadie’s education will take awhile, but she is gaining confidence slowly and making progress. She has access to the entire house and has favorite cave-like spots under tables.

Sadie still doesn’t quite trust her fostercaregiver, but that’s understandable considering she is not a competetive animal. We think once she finds a quiet home with another cat, she will continue to blossom.

Check out her son Aidan, nephews, Lynx, and Niall, her sister, Nicole, and her mom, Baby.
