Sakis
family moved away without him. He waited patiently outside the house for them
to return. They didnt. Two days later, a kind neighbor noticed him hanging
out and looking dejected. It was hot. She took him some food and water, and
made arrangements for him to be rescued.
His family never neutered him, and despite Iowa Citys leash law, they let him roam outside! Saki had been in a fight and ended up with an abscess near his ear. He now has a slight head tilt, which gives him a quizzical, pondering look.
Judging by his behavior, this is a cat who was roughly handled and yelled at. He needs a catwise person to continue showing him that hands are not toys and hugs are not for restraint.
Saki has shown a great deal of potential. Hes to the point where he can put his front paws on either side of your neck, knead your shoulders, and drool slightly in ecstasythis is great progress! Hes a quick study...very bright.
Right now he needs a home where hed be the only cat to
experience more examples of positive interactions with humans. Saki does not
seem to mind dogs.
DOB: 7/98Male.
Saki likes: cruising for dog food; watching wildlife; wand toys; exploring his environment.
He dislikes: loud voices; other cats (just seeing
them worries and annoys him).
