Sawyer is a bit shy at first, but quickly warms up to opportunities for laps.

Check out his mom Cassie, and siblings Brosia, Chloé, Mosley, and Radley to get a feel for his family.

Sawyer was born on the fringe of a housing development in rural Solon. He was lucky enough to be seen at the edge of the woods with his mom and a few of his siblings by an cat rescuer experienced enough to find and capture all six family members.

He was unlucky enough to suffer from fading-kitten syndrome, a nearly always terminal conition. But his rescuer patiently bottle fed him, refusing to let him just waste away.

Compared to his siblings, Sawyer was a bit undersize, but he’s completely caught up with them now and really enjoys his meals.

Live, Let Live, & LearnIf you happen to find young kittens (or other baby animals) without their mom, please think things through before you act. Bottle babies have very special needs (food, temperature, excretory, etc.) and require expert care. It’s easy to shift into “helping mode.” But momcats do kittencare best!

Unless you are sure mom isn’t coming back, be prepared to quietly observe for awhile. Human intervention is not always what’s best for the animal! To paraphrase Antoine de Sainte-Éxupéryyou become responsible for those you tame.

His brother,Radley is Sawyer’s best friend, so the boys will be placed together. These are gentle cats who’d like a quiet home where they can watch birds when they’re not playing soccer with a found object.

Sawyer likesmealtime; his brother, Radley; playing with his other siblings; watching wildlife from the screened-in porch

He dislikes:loud noises and chaos
