Shambles

DOB:  2001

Male

Shambles was found right after the Johnson County Fair ended. He was laying in the middle of the road, as if he were waiting for someone. And not just on any old road eitherit was I-380! The truck driver who rescued him was on his way to Iowa City. The moment the truck stopped, Shambles disappeared. At the time, he had severe infections in both eyes and ears.

After a bit of wandering, Shambles found his way to Lammers Construction Service and somehow managed to crawl through the cat door! Ironically this was a smart move. In 2004, the Lammers’ shop cats were honored with the JCHS Shop Cats Extraordinaire Humane Award.

Now that his eyes and ears are healed, Shambles is ready for his forever home. He really likes sleeping with his new caregivers, but he does tend to snore. He’s very social, smart, and responds to a number of voice commands. He’s more active than cuddly, doesn’t seem to know much about toys, and more submissive than dominant. Shambles does not hassle cats and has shown no signs of aggressive behavior toward other dogs or humans.

Shambles wants a secure fenced-in yard.
