Spider—adopted!

Photo: Spider the cat.Spider is enough of a kitten that her purrsonality, like her body, is still under construction. She was born with a brain lesion, the results of which in her case, interrupt the messages her brain sends to her hind legs.

Physically, her hind legs have developed normally, but the distorted messages they receive from her brain keep them from doing exactlt what she wants them to do.

Fortunately, Spider doesn’t seem bothered that her hind legs don’t work like her forelegs. Only Spider’s gait seems to be affected. She uses the litterbox like other cats—she just doesn’t walk like them.

We are delighted to report that Spider has recently learned how to “do” stairs by approaching them sideways, in a crab-like fashion.

Spider is very outgoing and has a sweet disposition.

Check out her siblings Ernie, Punky, Simon, and Smudge.

DOB: 7/30/01—Female.

Spider likes:  being held; playing soccer (her way); exploring.

She dislikes:  being picked up and turned over at the same time (makes her dizzy and scared).
