Thomas

DOB:  1990

Male

Thomas had been living in the caretaker’s home at the Johnson County Fairgrounds until a terminal illness uprooted his family.

Unfortunately, Thomas’ (and his housemates’) continued care had not been addressed before his dad’s health failed and they lost their home as the household was suddenly dismantled.

This amount of change makes a huge impression on a companion animal. The triple shock of losing his caregiver, his home, and moving into a foster situation was a burden. Thomas and his nephews Mellow, and Khaki have made many new friends in fostercare.

Thomas has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and currently takes one pill (Methimizole) twice a day. He’s very gentle and was raised by senior citizens. Thomas is becoming rather frail, but still gets around famously.

Thomas is always cruising for laps. He loves to read and snuggle, and he uses his front paws as if they were hands. Thomas is a loving, non-competitive male who is very kind.

Thomas likesattention; laps and naps; jingle balls; being gently groomed (he has a very dense coat); the company of other cats

He dislikesbeing told no (he pretends he’s hard of hearing)

Far too many beloved companion animals become instantly homeless upon the death of their caregivers. Please take time now to discuss options with your lawyer and make provisions for your animals in your will.
